Sorah Seong | Organizational Theorist | AI, Web3, Strategy

I'm an academic at heart.

I hold a PhD from INSEAD, where I currently serve as a Visiting Scholar exploring the intersections of crypto and AI. Previously, I was a tenure-track professor at the University of Washington Foster School of Business, where I was named one of Poets & Quants' Top 50 Business School Professors.

But I don't just study ideas β€” I build them. I co-founded SQRT, a crypto investment platform, led fashionxDAO, a collective incubating emerging fashion brands through tokenized membership, and served as Entrepreneur in Residence at Madrona Venture Labs.

I'm the author of three books: Beyond AI: The Human Strategy (2025), the national bestseller NFT Revolution (2021, 100K+ copies, translated into Mandarin, Cantonese, and Vietnamese), and Time I Couldn't Miss (2008), written during my time at Harvard.

What I believe in 🫰🏻

"We owe an obligation of stewardship to our ideas. They are struggling to be given life, to achieve currency in the world, to create real value for people who can build and run a better society. Only we can do that."

β€œWhat had once been an object of analytical inquiry became something I was inhabiting directly. That movement β€” from observer to participant β€” draws me back toward theory, not as abstraction, but as a means of making sense of what I have lived. And in that space between rigorous scholarship and fast-moving discourse, I see a gap where theoretical architecture could do much more.”
